BONE ASH FREE LAUNDER COATING
Traditional launder coatings that prevent Aluminium skulls adhering to the launder, at the end of a cast, are produced using Bone Ash as the filler.
Bone ash, when in contact with molten aluminium, can be chemically reduced to form metal phosphides, which can react with water molecules to form toxic phosphine gas.
